Calendar
Classes, events and to-dos in one calendar; export it as an image, PDF or calendar file, or subscribe from a calendar app.
A term's Calendar page shows three kinds of things: classes, events (one-off events you add and your LMS's calendar events) and to-dos with a due date. An assessment with a due date always has a to-do, so its deadline appears once, as that to-do.
- Tick a to-do's checkbox to finish it. It stays on its day, faded, and is finished on the To-dos page too.
- To-dos are deadlines, so the week view lists them in the all-day row, a timed one with its time in front.
- Drag a to-do to another day; it keeps its time. In the month view you can also drop it on another time. The to-do of an assessment takes its date from the gradebook, so change it there.
- New, or selecting a time slot, creates an Event or a To-do due then.
- Open an assessment's to-do and choose Open to go to its row in the course's grades.
Weekly classes
A course's Schedule page lists its classes by section (LEC0101, TUT0203, …). A section has its type, code, instructor and weeks; each of its weekly times has its own day, hours and room. All times of a section run in the same weeks, set with Whole term or Set weeks when you add or edit the section. For a time that starts later than the rest, cancel the classes it misses under Cancellations and moves, or add it as a section of its own.
Export
The Export menu in the toolbar has three choices.
Image or PDF
Saves the week view as a PNG or an A4 PDF, for printing or sending to someone. Pick one week, a range of weeks, or a weekly timetable without dates; choose what to include, how cancelled classes look, and a light or dark theme.
Calendar file (.ics)
Downloads the term (or the weeks you pick) as a .ics file to import once into Apple Calendar,
Google Calendar or Outlook. Courses hidden in the calendar's filters are left out. Later changes
in Semestra do not reach the imported copy; use a subscription link for that.
Subscription link
Each program has one read-only subscription link. Calendar apps check it on their own schedule (usually every few hours), so changes in Semestra show up without doing anything.
- Turn on the link the first time you open it. After that it is always shown here: copy it, open it in your calendar app, or add it to Google Calendar.
- Include classes and events, to-dos (assessment due dates among them) and LMS calendar items. Finished to-dos are left out. Changes apply to the same link.
- Reset link gives it a new address if it was shared by mistake; calendars subscribed to the old one stop updating and need the new link.
- Turn off link stops it for every calendar that uses it.
Anyone with the link can see what it includes, so share it only with calendars you own.
